A Brief Look At The Rapper’s History With The Law
According to WSVN, the 26-year-old’s most recent arrest occurred in February 2022 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Florida Highway Patrol pulled over the rapper for driving with excessive window tints.
During the traffic stop, officers smelled marijuana and searched his vehicle. Then, they reportedly found a bag of oxycodone pills and $75,000 in cash, per XXL.
Additionally, officers discovered that the rapper’s vehicle tag and driver’s license expired.
The rapper was reportedly released from the jail on a $75,000 bond the following day. However, his attorney, Bradford Cohen, filed a motion to dismiss the arrest, accusing authorities of misconduct and bias against Kodak Black, per XXL.
Five months later, Kodak Black would address the arrest, calling it an “assassination” of his character.
“As a black man in America, I deserve my freedom, especially with everything I do for my community I should be getting love, respect, and support from the authorities! To move freely, not getting arrested for expired tag and dark windows,” the “Super Gremlin” rapper wrote in now-deleted tweets.
We must note that the rapper also made headlines in 2020 after former President Trump commuted his three-year federal prison sentence. Instead of the time ordered, Kodak Black served about half of his sentence, per NBC Miami.
Kodak Black Recently Made Headlines For Enrolling In College
As The Shade Room previously reported, Kodak Black most recently made headlines in February when he revealed he enrolled in college. The rapper shared that he was now a student at Arizona State University.
Additionally, he explained that he was “in love” with applying himself.
