Demna Named Artistic Director of Gucci, Set to Begin in July 2025

Gucci has officially announced that Demna will take over as the House’s new Artistic Director, beginning in July 2025.

The Georgian fashion designer, who has helmed Balenciaga since 2015, is set to bring his distinct creative vision to one of fashion’s most iconic brands.

Kering and Gucci confirmed the appointment in a statement, saying, “Kering and Gucci are delighted to announce the appointment of Demna as the House’s new Artistic Director, starting early July 2025.”

François-Henri Pinault, Chairman & CEO of Kering, praised the designer’s impact, saying, “Demna’s contribution to the industry, to Balenciaga, and to the Group’s success has been tremendous. His creative power is exactly what Gucci needs. As I thank him for everything he has accomplished over the past 10 years, I look forward to seeing him shape Gucci’s new artistic direction.”
