Henry Cavill Lands Starring Role in Big Screen Adaptation of 'Voltron' Anime Series

Henry Cavill is gearing up for a starring role in the big screen adaptation of Voltron!

On Thursday (October 10), it was announced that the 41-year-old Superman actor will play a key role in the movie from director Rawson Marshall Thurber.

Deadline confirmed news of Henry‘s casting, noting that he will join already announced star Daniel Quinn-Toye in the movie.

The movie has been in development since at least 2022, when Amazon MGM Studios picked up the script from Rawson and collaborator Ellen Shanman.

Little is known about the plot yet. However, Voltron is based on the popular anime series that premiered in the ’80s. The animated franchise expanded to encompass everything from comic books to video games.

According to the outlet, the overall series is about “a team of space explorers who pilot a giant super robot known as Voltron.”
