The Late Drake Hogestyn's Final 'Days of Our Lives' Episode Has Already Aired

Drake Hogestyn has already made his final appearance on Days of Our Lives.

The late actor, who played John Black on the soap for decades, passed away over the weekend and while fans didn’t know it last month, they did in fact, already watch his last episode on the long-running TV series.

As the show films episodes way in advance, Drake filmed his final episode back in February, according to Soap Opera Digest. The episode aired on Monday, September 9th.

According to TV Line, the episode “found John bestowing some grandfatherly advice upon Tate (Leo Howard), who was still feeling guilty about accidentally telling Holly that Eric was the drunk driver responsible for her biological father’s death. John couldn’t fully relieve Tate of his guilt, but he brought enough warmth and wisdom to the situation to ease his grandson’s troubles.”

The ep also featured a moment between John and his son Brady (Eric Martsolf) where they shared a final hug after “announcing that all charges against him in Sarah’s ongoing hit-and-run case have been dropped.”

At this time, it’s currently unclear if Days of Our Lives will be addressing the absence of Drake Hogenstyn as John Black or not, or if it will be written into the character’s storyline.
